R & D Geophysicist

 JOB SUMMARY
Land Division is offering a position for Geophysicist to join the 4D Land Active and Passive Seismic group based in Massy (France).
The 4D Land team is aiming in developing new solutions for our clients for monitoring all types of onshore reservoir (conventional, heavy oil, shale gas, CCS, etc) or assisting EOR operations (SAGD, frac, etc). Group activities are focused on conducting onshore reservoir monitoring pilot projects worldwide for major clients and developing new methodologies/equipments in both active and passive seismic techniques.
As part of this team, you will be in charge of managing processing projects which are part of seismic monitoring pilot projects.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a processing Geophysicist in the 4D Land Active and Passive Seismic team, you will be responsible for analyzing the seismic data, defining the 4D processing sequence at a start of a reservoir monitoring project, writing internal and external reports and making technical presentation of the results.
You will be involved in other aspects of the monitoring project and will participate or be responsible for:

    * Working in close cooperation with the R&D team on specific geophysical problems
    * Assisting in the field operations worldwide to insure geophysical integrity of recorded data
    * Conducting feasibility studies by using wave modeling tools and signal analysis software
    * Analyzing seismic data acquired for experimental purposes on our own test site

You have excellent communication and presentation skills as you will have to liaise with clients, your team members and geophysical researchers on technical matters.
You can expect some international travels in connection with the execution of the projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

    * Educated to MSc / PhD level in Geophysics, Math, Physics or equivalent qualification
    * A minimum of 3 years experience within a data processing environment (Geocluster/Geovation)
    * Experience with Matlab is a plus
    * Prior field experience in seismic acquisition is a plus
    * Experience in ray-tracing/wave equation modeling software is a plus
    * Initiative, teamwork, interpersonal understanding, communication,
    * Fluent English oral and writing
