RESEARCH GEOPHYSICIST FOR 4D TECHNOLOGIES
Job Summary

Your main focus will be to use seismic data to understand reservoir physics. You will work in a team of world-class research geophysicists and software engineers to create, develop, improve and support cutting-edge reservoir imaging solutions.
As a research geophysicist your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the development of innovative solutions to problems the industry is facing today. You will find ways to better image reservoirs and to identify, understand and to quantitatively analyse changes in reservoirs over time (time-lapse/4D) - all of which creates the information that our clients need.
To do this you may work independently or as part of team, collaborating with other researchers and software developers, locally and globally. You will also interact with clients and with external researchers across the field. You will participate in training courses, for example at CGGVeritas University and through the SEG and EAGE.
Key Job Responsibilities
Develops programs, prototypes or equipment with predefined geophysical or engineering content and specifications.
Participate in the geophysical or engineering validation of the prototype with Senior Advisors and/ or Senior Geophysicist detached to Technology.
Develops his knowledge by reading academic publications, attending technical presentations, workshops, conferences, seminars.
Keeps himself/ herself informed of internal requirements by building close relationships with the PIR Marine, Land processing operations.
Technical presentations for clients.
Prepare technical articles.
Participates, as team member, to the innovation process as to deploy patent policy.
Requirements
* PhD in geophysics, physics, mathematics, engineering sciences, or another related technical field.
* The ability to mathematically analyse scientific problems and to apply the analysis to data.
* Broad set of scientific interests, including physics (wave propagation), reservoir geophysics and signal processing/inversion methods.
* Strong motivation to deal with real data, solve practical problems and deliver high end technological products.
* Coding skills (ideally FORTRAN, C or C++).
