Sales Specialist II

Description

This job description is not meant to be an all inclusive list of duties and responsibilities, but constitutes a general definition of the position's scope and function in the company.

 

General Position Summary:

Manage all the coordination, planning, budgeting, and execution of all Sales Events: Sales Meeting, Academy, regional and national Trade Shows, and Retailer Events.

Manage all brand education projects and events; Seasonal clinic tools, internal staff training, retailer training programs and the creation of associated tools and resources.

Sales Initiatives – under the leadership of the National Sales Manager and in coordination with territory managers, execute numerous and various inside sales efforts.  These could be chasing in-season reorders, follow-up on primary seasonal initiatives, filling temporary territory voids, etc.

Prepares sales forecasts, and collects and analyze data to evaluate current sales goals. Researches and evaluates current economic conditions that may affect the organization's ability to sell its products in the marketplace. Assist in the development of sales targets and forecasts for the sales team. Recommends changes to current sales techniques, procedures or promotional efforts based on market research and new trends.

Develops, implements, and serves as lead educator for technical product, seasonal initiative, and brand education program for MHW/MTR Richmond (all departments), MHW/MTR Account Services, and MHW/MTR Brand Retail.

Sales Initiatives – under the leadership of the National Sales Manager and in coordination with territory managers execute numerous and various inside sales efforts.  These could be chasing in-season reorders, follow-up on primary seasonal initiatives, filling temporary territory voids, etc.

Closeout Sales – Manage direct sales efforts with house accounts that are deemed closeout partners that only sell prior season and discounted products maximizing margin and minimizing excess inventories.  Also coordinate closeout efforts with inline dealers as appropriate by working with field sales reps.

Corporate Sales – Develop relationships with corporate entities for direct sales opportunities as gifts, event sponsorship, etc.

 

Essential Functions:

 

    * Support outbound sales efforts for all US regions as directed by sales management.  These efforts will require coordination and communication with Territory Managers and individual sales reps
    * Develop relationships with direct channel partners and manage the negotiation of deals in accordance with the National Sales Manager & Regional Sales Managers.  Work with sales management and field sales to coordinate visibility to inventory positions so that the collective can maximize margin and minimize unproductive inventories.
    * Produces sales reports and dashboards for various groups.   Collects, analyzes, evaluates and reports data in order to increase sales force productivity and improve decision making.   Researches competitive landscape and provides ongoing analysis.  Pulls and communicates Edifice reporting to provide useful information in a timely manner.  Assists with the management of Sales Programs throughout the season.  
    * Generate reports using Insight and other applications to identify supply issues such as “no stock” and “short ship” reports.  Evaluate order file for shortages and late assignment as necessary using various reporting tools. Provide such information and recommendations to planning and productions personnel to plan for expedited shipments. Make recommendations to managers and account reps regarding order shortages and delays.
    * Work in collaboration and under the direction of the Direct Sales Manager to establish and grow the Special Market Sales Channels.
    * Participates in Sales Campaigns, and closely interfaces directly with other departments; particularly Marketing and Product Development.
    * Maintain a high professional standard in individual behaviour by demonstrating respect, courtesy and professionalism to others.
    * All other duties assigned by the Sales Managers.
