Accounts Assistant

City seeks to recruit an Accounts Assistant, as part of the Research Grants and Contracts Team within the Research Office, which offers support for research strategy and development and bidding for research funding. The main purpose of Research Grants and Contracts is to support the University’s strategic aim to increase high quality research and research income, through facilitating the financial and contractual management of research and consultancy projects for the University. The position is fixed-term to provide extended maternity leave cover and this is expected to be for a period of 12-15 months. Responsibilities The post-holder will facilitate the financial administration of research and consultancy projects within the University, including those funded by the European Union, and will produce regular budgetary update reports for Principal Investigators and Senior Management. The post-holder will liaise with external funders for the submission of funding claims and monitor income received. Person Specification The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to learn fast and work with little supervision. A good command of oral and written English and good verbal reasoning skills are essential. Experience of working with contracts and of accounts reconciliation is important.
