Testing Sr Manager
This leadership position will be responsible for leading the Global Consumer Technology Global Test Management team for the Asia Pacific region. It will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 10-15 test managers who will be the single point of accountability for ensuring testing activities are completed on-time and on-budget for all APAC Rainbow Conversions, Consumer Cards, Retail and BAU/release/special funded projects. It will drive the effective and timely completion of the standard Global Operating Model test plan, manage each project with a project schedule, track and aggressively drive completion of SIT/UAT test scripts and manage the defect management process for all regional conversions/projects. This leader will need to develop a strong partnership with PMO and testing leaders in the region and across the globe.
This partnership will be required to align test managers with project managers and functional testing leaders to ensure projects are implemented in a manner that satisfies the intended scope of the project and implemented with minimal defects. This leader will play a strategic role in transforming the Global Test Management function to a project management centric focus. It will instill a strong governance framework and will establish best practice/PMI project management disciplines throughout the regional test management organization. This leader will partner with the Consumer Global Test Management Director to enhance and drive a standard test management model across the globe. It will be responsible for influencing and providing project updates to executive management on a regular basis.
Demonstrated leadership skills and proven track record of influencing "C-level" leaders
Strong leadership to collaborate and influence multiple stakeholder groups across Global testing, development, PMO, external vendors and business partners
Strong leadership and management skills to manage a direct staff of approximately 10-15 IT test managers and influence team members outside the selected leader's direct control
Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and implement innovative solutions as a means to establish best practice processes within the Consumer Global Test Management organization
Extensive project management experience and ability to implement strong project management disciplines across a team of diverse backgrounds, including FTE's and contractors.
Qualifications
Establish standard processes to ensure all Global Test Managers are executing their test management responsibilities in a highly effective and consistent manner
Drive Risk Management focus and discipline from project initiation through project implementation - for all projects under direct control
Participate in all release planning and relevant internal testing meetings to ensure critical SDLC deliverables, testing deliverables and project risks are proactively managed and communicated to key stakeholders
Establish standard metrics and reporting disciplines to ensure consistent and effective updates on the status of testing progress for senior management and key stakeholders
Partner with the Consumer Global Test Management Director and other testing leaders to rationalize and quantify the cost of poor quality resulting from missed SDLC deliverables, testing defects, frequent project changes and production defects.
Lead efforts to ensure all technology and business stakeholders are well informed about the enhanced Test Manager role and responsibilities
Evaluate the skill set/effectiveness of each Test Manager and develop a training and mentoring plan to help each of them grow into highly skilled and effective testing project managers
Prior experience leading large scale transformational, global change
In-depth understanding of the Consumer One GCT SDLC process, including heritage processes used in North America and the international regions
In-depth understanding of Consumer Global Operating Model to ensure compliance to these standard practices
Prior Retail Banking and/or Cards experience, including product and application systems knowledge
Strong understanding of Rainbow platform conversion activities
Strong understanding of testing processes, Quality Center and other testing related tools
Strong communication skills and experience delivering executive level updates
Proficient PC skills
