Principal Engineer

APrincipal Engineer – Web Platform for Cloud Applications

You will join a strong team of engineers that designs and builds a world class, highly scalable web platform for cloud based applications. In this hands on role, you will design and implement innovative, elegant and high performing solutions for enterprise collaboration and social media applications. The successful candidate will have broad product experiences building multi-tier distributed platforms as a service, strong leadership and communication skills, and be adept at working in a fast paced agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and build multi-tier, multi-tenant, distributed software platform and applications using core Java and related Web 2.0 technologies;
• Architect and implement development environment and API frameworks to enable third parties to create applications on top of the web platform;
• Lead and drive the continuous innovation and optimization of the platform and push the limits in terms of performance, reliability and scalability;
• Collaborate effectively with product management and cloud services to ensure monitoring, serviceability and reliable operations of the platform and to deliver the best end to end user experiences to the customers;

Skills:

• Over 10 years of large scale, full software lifecycle development experiences, including at least 5 years as a lead engineer, preferably at a high volume web company;
• Very strong Java coding capabilities and deep knowledge of performance tuning and optimization for multi-tier, distributed and large scale Java applications;
• Proven senior architectural and leadership experiences in creating, driving and articulating platform vision, strategy and solution designs;
• Demonstrated ability to architect and implement secure, scalable, high performance and highly available Java based server platforms;
• Demonstrated experiences in creating and designing APIs and frameworks that enable partner application development;
• Deep experiences with data replication, consistency, persistence and security;
• Results oriented with a track record of planning and delivering innovative solutions in time, with particular attention to security, quality and performance;
• Experiences of working with cross functional teams, including product management, QA, cloud operations, security, technical support, and enterprise customers;
• MS in computer science/computer engineering or related fields
