Product Manager
The Beta Programs Manager works cross-functionally with various internal groups involved in the Pre-Release customer testing programs and directly with customers selected to participate in a program. The Beta Manager will provide account management to beta customers; ensure timely testing and reporting of feedback, and customer reference ability. The person will manage inter-organizational activities to ensure conformance to beta process and product quality. The Beta Manager will provide reports and recommendations to the program team and management regarding product and infrastructure market readiness.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Help manage the process of the beta product testing by customers in the beta program.
• Work with existing Beta Management and within the parameters of the IronPort beta process.
• Learn the new product’s features and functionality and publish a beta plan with test cases and other beta requirements to be approved by the Core team.
• Act as a company representative in customer conference calls and meetings to solicit beta feedback.
• Communicate the results of customer beta testing to company.
• Respond to urgent needs from customers.
• Perform analysis of beta customer activity and feedback leveraging all available resources.
• Assist and improve the effectiveness of tracking and reporting beta feedback.
• Ensure appropriate test coverage to stated goals for the beta test period.
• Provide customer references.
• Communicate product and infrastructure readiness information to the Company at beta end.
Required Experience and Skills:
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 - 8 years experience in software and/or hardware development or related roles.
• Previous experience in one or more of the following roles: Beta, Program, or Product Management, and/or Customer Support
• Able to quickly learn IronPort products and features and be immediately productive.
• Able to work without close supervision, to develop and execute IronPort's beta program/process plans, to work closely with development, customer support and sales, and to effectively prioritize a large workload.
