isco's Solutions Development Unit(SDU) takes a systems approach aligned across Data Center and Mobility architectures, and delivers pre-integrated / pre-validated systems, many of which lay the foundation for Cisco solutions. SDU's systems approach drives the business conversation between Cisco and our customers by integrating internal innovations with innovations from a broad set of ecosystem partners. This integration transforms operational business models, improves profitability, reduces risk and complexity, and improves overall governance. Specifically SDU Systems Engineering focuses primarily on the validation and verification systems architectures while also contributing to those architectures with other parts of the SDU organization. SDU is currently looking to start a systems test team on the Bangalore Campus and is looking for an experienced, independent self starting and dedicated system test engineer for the Mobile Transport / Carrier Ethernet/Smart + Connected Communities Solution test team. This engineer's responsibilities will include: - Work with global teams within SDU and partners of SDU on identifying test requirements, test tools/processes. - Contribute to the system Master Test Strategy and the system Detailed Test plan in specific areas of assignment. - Actively participate in the execution of system testing. - Triage, document and troubleshoot system issues as they appear. - Own and develop the system test results including the appropriate parts of the Design and Implementation Guide and/or the Cisco Validated Design guide as they apply to your testing area. - Provide technical mentoring to the team to ensure high quality test execution and thus a high degree of deployment success for Cisco's customers - Maintain smooth and structured communication channels with management, other SDU system testing teams, and cross functional teams in order to optimize execution and maximize results. Essential Skills 4+ years related working experience. Knowledge of Software Testing. Experience in network based end-to-end systems testing is a plus. Broad based experience in Cisco's hardware/software portfolio including routing/switching products, data center, collaboration such as telepresence and voice,network management. A passion for Cisco's Solutions approach. Good at written and verbal communication Technical areas of interest include: -TCP/IP, IPv6 - MPLS (L2VPN, L3VPN, VPWS, VPLS) - OAM, IP-SLA, QoS - REP, FlexLink, MST, MLACP - Routing /Switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, etc.) - Network Management Systems (Cisco Prime, etc.) -Security, Firewalls, ASA, Load Balancers, VPN, Remote Access, Video Telephony, CUCM, SIP, Smart Home / Residential devices. - System Administration including Linux and Windows administration - Time synchronization protocols (1588 PTP, Synchronous Ethernet) - Video, VoIP.
