Responsibilities:

Purpose and Summary of position:

 

This position reports to the Industrial Sales Manager-Americas.

 

Key areas of accountability/responsibility:

 

* Define and  execute the sales territory/account plans, derived from the various product line strategies, and realize the yearly account and territory objectives for sales growth and profitability.

 

* The position will develop new business through the generation of technical value proposals, application and design knowledge (market/application, product, processing) at existing and new customers.

 

* The position will interface with various customer groups including Materials Engineering, Design Engineering and Program Managers.Execute negotiations about pricing, delivery etc. within the boundaries set by Sales and Product Management, and responsible for quotations handling, credit limits and preparing standard and special contracts.

 

* Responsible for defining, developing and commercializing new projects (customers/applications) within the scope of the account plans and product line strategies.

 

* Assesses competitive activity, new sales or development opportunities and monitors industry trends to develop strategies accordingly.

 

* Responsible for inputing and updating projects and data into the Innovation & Growth Trackign tool (MIPS).

 

* Responsible for leveraging and coordinating Market Development Engineer (MDE) / Product Marketing  efforts for his/her projects.  Leverage and coordinate AD/R&D/T&I efforts at Account level and coordinate all internal activities concerning the account to ensure a consistent account approach in sales, support and development.

 

* Develop and maintain networks at adequate levels in the value chain and within account’s organizations focusing on engineering, technology, and sales.

 

* Responsible for sales forecasting as input for the Demand Plan.

The split between Account Development activity versus current account management will be 40% account management / 60% business development.
Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

* Good verbal presentation, listening, business writing and interpersonal skills

* Time management, prioritization and organizational skills

* Results oriented, proactive, and energetic person with sense of urgency

* Team-oriented with creative thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills

*Ability to effectively coordinate and utilize internal company resources, which include:  Customer Support Staff, Product Lines, Marketing Organizations and Technical Service Group.

*  Must be familiar with Ticona’s product lines and have the ability to properly position them within the marketplace.

* Position requires travel (up to 50%).

 

Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

* Knowledge and experience in broad polymer applications - specifically, indutrial markets (fluid/material handling, irrigations, oil & gas, composites, aerospace, etc.)

* Market development or technical service function in plastics.

* Experience with Global OEMs preferred.

* Experience utilizing an organized methodology for sales processes.

* Established relationships and contacts within the industry

* Active membership with SPE or other relevant trade organizations

* Computer proficient (Microsoft Office)

* Business Acumen:  Knows how businesses work; knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting his/her business organization: knows the competition, is aware of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.

* Customer Focus:  Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; gets first -hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services.

* Negotiating:  Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups
