IT Solutions Senior Account Executive


Job Description

Summary:  The Sales Director is responsible for developing and leading a team of Senior Account Executives for a specific assigned geographic territory to consistently exceed its sales goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Account Executive Sales Director will be responsible for building and managing a group of Sr. Account Executives to focus on the more complex accounts within the Cbeyond defined SMB market space, specifically those customers with 51 – 249 employees.

Administration

    * Effectively manage team to a revenue based 30, 60, 90-day funnel and a variable sales cycle.
    * Coach, develop, evaluate, and motivate individual Sr. Account Executives to achieve and exceed assigned objectives.
    * Educate Sr. Account Executives in sales planning tactics to support their business sales targets in addition to successfully completing organizational training requirements.
    * Build and establish a targeted prospect list for future business (using client profiling, vertical market data analysis and other techniques).
    * Support and coach team to achieve results
    * Provides sales updates on a regular basis to the Cbeyond senior management team.

Achieve Revenue Goals

    * Achieve targeted sales numbers, forecast accurately, and develop a sales projection model that delivers acceptable sales quotas.
    * Plan and adjust sales targets throughout the year with consistent/accurate trend analysis.
    * Prepare, analyze, and maintain records of individual and team sales performance activities relative to business goals and objectives. Ensure accurate forecasts of annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue and unit numbers through data analysis.

General

    * Constantly maintain a solid understanding of all the major products and applications, adapting as Cbeyond enhances its portfolio, and educate the sales team.
    * Thorough knowledge of telecommunication products and services (such as Cloud, VOIP, MPLS, and EFM), as well as how to overcome objectives with knowledge of competitor’s platforms/costs.
    * Support and guide Sr. Account Executives during the implementation of sales contracts and throughout the relationship by seeking and taking appropriate actions on customer feedback and taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    * Discuss and develop funnel metrics and customer targets for the Sr. Account Executives.
    * Coordinate with Engineering and sales support to complete product configuration and ensure successful installation of Cbeyond products.
    * Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities that affect Cbeyond ; develop an effective strategic plan to provide a viable solution.
    * Manage the sales cycle.
    * Responsible for ensuring annual account planning for top accounts
    * Work with the Sr. Account Executives to uncover business challenges and initiatives with the goal of converting key prospects to new customers.

 Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

    * Minimum of 8 years of high tech sales experience with 5 years management experience in selling IT services or telecommunication services to complex accounts.
    * Developed and Managed P&L responsibilities for at least a 12 month period of time
    * Previous experience monitoring and coaching employee performance to ensure maximum effectiveness, and continued growth on a constant basis.
    * Extensive experience managing complex contract negotiations, develping RFP responses, and developing proposals to meet client needs
    * Demonstrates a positive attitude; win-win mentality.
    * Managed  Revenue Based Sales Plans with positive results
    * Bachelor’s degree
    * Excellent communicator (both written and oral) and excellent presentation skills.
    * Comfortable working with small business executive (C-suite experience is a must)
    * Proven history of meeting and exceeding sales revenue goals.
    * Good negotiator with the ability to persuade others.
    * Strong level of general business acumen.
    * Ability to work independently and think on one’s feet.
    * Creative and innovative with an ability to think and solve problems strategically.
    * Successfully closed large deals in a complex selling environment.
