Maintenance Technician
Description
Installs, maintains, and repairs equipment, physical structures, pipe, electrical systems, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery to support Zero Downtime and a World Class manufacturing environment by performing the following duties.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Through the use of initiatives such as: T.P.M., 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and other initiatives, this position will gather the intellectual and technical abilities to perform World Class maintenance and zero downtime.
* Coordinates with team leaders the daily activities of maintenance and focuses on process improvements that will increase the area(s) of responsibilities to improve work center efficiencies.
* Visually inspects, tests and records equipment information to assure that it stays in “like new” condition. Required to possess computer skills that will allow use of programs such as; Lotus Notes, MS Excel, MS Word and Computerized Maintenance Management Software.
* Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions. Discusses machine variations with team leaders or other maintenance technicians to diagnose and resolve problems.
* Mechanically dismantles defective devices and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, including full-range overhaul of machines, forklifts and motorized vehicles.
* Installs, programs, or repairs automated equipment such as robots, CNC controls or programmable controllers.
* Cleans, inspects and lubricates various parts of equipment.
* Is called upon to do lay outs, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repairs or replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment following all related codes and regulations. Inspect and maintain both minor and major HVAC systems throughout the facilities.
* Designs, installs and repairs electrical apparatus such as: transformers, electrical and electronic components. Connects power supply wires, fiber optic, data lines, cables and wires to equipment. Understands and possesses the necessary knowledge and skills to install and maintain motor controls and motor starting circuits.
* This position is responsible for the knowledge and proper use of Lock Out, Tag Out procedures. Maintains and installs, wiring, conduits, and electrical apparatus throughout the facilities.
* Maintains through schedule inspections and repairs the physical structures of the facility, the fire suppression systems and alarms.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The employee may be encouraged to obtain additional job related education or attend training classes / seminars to enhance their career.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
*Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position will require working at heights above floor level using scissor lifts, telescoping man-lifts and other approved personnel lifting devices. This position is required to work in confined spaces.
