Human Resources Generalist
Summary and Mission
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist is accountable for performing a wide range of HR duties including non-complex employee relations, processing unemployment claims, maintaining policies and procedures, and related HR projects.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Serve as a liaison to all levels of employees on HR-related issues, company policy, and basic benefits issues.
· Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
· Provide advice, counsel, and interpretation to managers regarding application of HR programs and policies.
· Assist with non-complex employee relations issues under the direction and supervision of the Human Resource Manager.
· Identify and analyze key metric data such as headcount, turnover, and cost-per-hire and make recommendations to management team for corrective action.
· Conduct exit interviews, analyze feedback, and provide management with summary results.
· Assist with projects such as system implementation/conversion, open enrollment, and other employee events as needed.
· Facilitate and/or provide training on HR-related matters throughout the organization.
· Maintain employment vendor contacts, managing relationships and negotiating vendor contracts and ensuring service levels meet or exceed standards.
Represent the organization in unemployment proceedings.
· Participate in development and administration of the performance management process.
· Participate in developing human resource goals, objectives, and systems; assist in evaluation and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve effectiveness.
· Provide assistance in the development of job descriptions; perform job analysis and evaluation and maintenance of the compensation structure.
· Ensure regulatory compliance with all employee-related federal and state regulations.

· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Experience and Education
· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or combination of equivalent education and business experience required.
· A minimum of three (3) years HR Generalist experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge, skills, and abilities needed include:
· Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
· Demonstrated knowledge of human resources practices and processes (benefits, compensation, employee relations, employment (including staffing and recruiting), training, and administration).
· In-depth knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations related to compensation, benefits, employment, wage and hour, and worker’s compensation.
· Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based, and related job specific software applications.
· Working knowledge of HRIS systems.
· Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and vendors.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations.
Licenses and Certifications
· Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
· PHR designation strongly preferred.
