Job Description
Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated, a world wide leading manufacturer in single-ply roofing and related technology , has an immediate opening for a Thermoplastics Chemist in Carlisle, PA. The position will be responsible for research activities on new and existing products as well as identifying and implementing new technologies within the thermoplastics business group. In addition, the position will be responsible for product performance requirements, predictive testing, product formulations, and will be the R&D link to plant processing associated with manufacturing and assembling products.
A qualified applicant will possess knowledge of polymer science and compounding, sheet extrusion, UV stabilization chemistry, and roofing construction. He or she will also have some experience in personal computers and software, installation techniques of various roofing systems, and will possess strong interpersonal skills. Other responsibilities of this position include development, maintenance and performance for supported products; working with other departments on defined projects; supporting the R&D group; and conducting analysis of key competitors.
Skills/Requirements
This position requires a minimum educational background of a BS in chemistry, physical sciences or engineering as well as 2-5 years of experience in the plastics and/or single-ply roofing industry. 10 years of experience in roofing with the last five years of experience in single-ply is also acceptable.
