Carlisle Coatings & Waterproofing Inc., division of Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated- a worldwide leader in singly-ply roofing and related technology-has an immediate opening for a Quality Control Technician at its Terrell, TX location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
The Quality Control Technician’s primary purpose is to perform quality control testing on raw materials, in process manufacturing, finished products and works with operators to ensure quality products are being produced and in compliance with established specifications. The individual will also work with Research & Development and Lab Supervisor to make and/or test lab batches and evaluate new raw materials. Other responsibilities include: Maintain Quality Control records, Special projects and Comply with all company safety requirements
The following are the minimum education and experience requirements. Consideration will be given to individuals with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Bachelors degree in chemical or related field is preferred
-Minimum of 2 year experience in related field preferred
-Ability to operate laboratory test and process equipment
-Knowledge of properties of raw materials (including hazard rating), pH, Viscosity and Solids is required.
-Background/understanding of ISO certification, root cause analysis, process improvement, six sigma and lean desired
-Ability to write laboratory reports and SOPs
-Must comply to company policies and practices
-Background in statistical methods and analysis is helpful
-Computer skills (MS Office suite) required to manipulate especially using MS Excel and knowledge of SOP is plus.
-Effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, supervisory skills, budgeting skills and time management skills
