Production Team Member

Position Mission: To blend and package the industry’s finest coffee through excellent performance, attendance, and attitude; while prioritizing safety, quality, and throughput in order to serve all of Caribou’s retail and wholesale customers.

Responsibilities Include:
• Packages coffee as production schedules demand.
• Blends coffee as production schedules demand.
• Performs cleaning and sanitation according to respective schedules and in accordance with established Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Brings any issues pertinent to production directly to Coffee Production Manager and Team Leaders and/or Director of Coffee Operations.
• Communicates any issues concerning equipment problems to Coffee Production Manager, Director of Coffee Operations and/or Engineering Department.
• Maintains production and inventory records for accurate blending and packaging documentation.
• Maintains sanitation and safety/shutdown documentation to ensure clean and safe operations.
• Participates in training of new Production Team Members
• Executes necessary quality assurance procedures “on the floor.”
• Maintains all production quality assurance documentation pertinent to blending & packaging.
• Communicates any quality or contamination concerns to Coffee Production Manager and Director of Coffee Operations.
• Adheres to all established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) standards.
• Maintains all maintenance & sanitation programs as directed by Coffee Production Manager and/or Maintenance or Production Technicians.
• Performs all maintenance and sanitation actions as listed on maintenance & sanitation programs.
• Alerts Coffee Production Manager and Director of Coffee Operations to any safety & facility/equipment concerns in blending, packaging, and green coffee warehousing.
• Maintains established standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Understands and complies with all Food Safety and related programs, such as but not limited to GMP's, Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and Adverse Health Policy.

Education/Training/Experience:
High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production setting and/or a fast paced environment. At least 1 year of coffee industry experience is strongly desired. Basic manufacturing equipment familiarity and setup desired. Previous forklift driving experience and/or license a plus.

The physical requirements for this position are:
• Must be able to lift 80 pounds 20% of the shift.
• Must be able to work while standing or walking for the duration of 9+ hour shifts.
• Must be able to endure constant leaning and bending during shift.
• Must be able to handle/move up to 750 pound bins on casters.
• Must maintain steady pace to match production speed.

Environmental Exposures:
• Airborne particles, Fumes, High places, Moving parts, Muscular strain, Noise, Odors, High temperatures.
• Ability to accomplish the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
