Director of Training

JOB SUMMARY

 

Plans, develops, coordinates and facilitates a broad range of training programs organization-wide. Assesses training needs, develops course content, conducts classes and measures effectiveness.

 
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.     Plans, designs, manages, and delivers formalized employee training and management development programs that support the company’s strategic objectives.

 

2.     Works with department managers to determine type, extent, and scope of training needs and develop curricula   for key positions.

 

3.     Investigates and recommends various training programs and procedures. Develops courses as necessary to meet both recurring and nonrecurring needs.

 

4.     Designs examinations and/or simulated activities to assess trainees’ mastery of skills in technical programs. Evaluates trainee performance.

 

5.     Provides management with information regarding educational advancement by employees.

 

6.     Manages the learning management system  including assignments, course updates, and Compliance training status reports.

 

7      Responsible for complying with the various rules, regulations, policies and ethical standards governing the financial services industry including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.

 

8.     Performs other duties as assigned.

 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This position supervises Training staff.

 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or other recognized HR certification.  Advanced degree desirable.

·         Eight years training experience in the financial services industry including curriculum design and measurement systems for a blended learning environment, instructor led training, computer based training, and learning management systems.

·         Minimum three years in a supervisory/management roll with responsibility for managing and developing other trainers.     

 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

·         Knowledge of training and adult learning and development theories and methods, HR management concepts, and human resources laws and regulations.

·         Strong facilitation and leadership skills.

·         Excellent human relations skills and clear verbal and written communication skills.

·         Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, internet, e-mail programs and learning management systems.

·         Determines the best method of training delivery based on course objectives and audience.

·         Formally responsible for setting policy associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities.
