Building Engineer

    
JOB SUMMARY

 

Responsible for ensuring a positive client and employee experience within banking offices as it relates to internal and external appearance, safety and efficiency.  Engineer will be assigned a region of banking offices, ensuring proper coordination of routine and corrective maintenance, minor repairs, housekeeping, grounds maintenance, and quality control inspection.

 
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Through a regular rotation of site visits, inspects properties with branch managers to identify any additional needed repairs and maintenance not previously reported.  Determines and executes best method to correct needed repairs and maintenance, corrects any noted issues.

 

·         Responds to daily requests from the branches regarding maintenance, repairs, cleaning, etc. that are deemed urgent by both the branch management team and facilities management.

 

·         Performs a variety of building maintenance tasks during site visits or as needed from daily requests.

 

·         Works with Corporate Real Estate Manager to determine when external and internal trade resources are necessary and properly utilized.  Oversees onsite work performed by external trade resources.

 

·         Completes minor repairs and maintenance of fixed building equipment, systems and furnishings in a timely manner when possible.

 

·         Completes minor carpentry, painting and electrical modifications and repairs correctly when possible.

 

·         Ensures plumbing leaks and clogs are properly corrected.

 

·         Represents Facilities team during construction meetings on any branch build-out or renovations within assigned region.

 

·         Supports on-call schedule within Real Estate team.  Responds to after hours or weekend emergencies.

 

·         Ensures supplies, materials and tools are procured and accounted for in compliance with established procedures.

 

·         Ensures trash is removed on schedule

 

·         Ensures furniture is moved according to user specifications.

 

·         Ensures grounds are appropriately maintained including landscaping, parking lots and outside area of building.

 

·         Ensures inspection and maintenance schedules are established and followed.

 

·         Coordinates snow and/or  ice removal with vendor to maintain full access to all entrances and public spaces during inclement weather events

·         Ensures new equipment is unpacked and assembled appropriately.

 

·         Responsible for complying with the various rules, regulations, policies and ethical standards governing the financial services industry including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.

 

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

·         A high school education or equivalent required.

·         Technical training preferred.

·         Construction project management experience required.

·         Ability to work multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.

 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

·         Ability to perform routine repairs and maintenance on equipment, systems and furnishings.

·         Ability to do minor carpentry, painting and electrical modifications and repairs.

·         Excellent communication skills in order to interact with branch staff, vendors, and contractors.

·         Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
