Quality Control Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

 

Responsible for the quality control and system review of all consumer and commercial loan documents to ensure that all loans are processed in accordance with bank policy guidelines.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.      Conducts quality control reviews on all new, renewal, modification and extension documents for consumer, commercial and credit card loans for:  (a) completeness of loan documentation, (b) required approval, (c) compliance with bank loan policies, and (d) compliance with applicable government regulations.

2.      Possesses and maintains a high level of knowledge of all regulations as they apply to all consumer and commercial lending products.

3.      Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of all Credit Administration policies and procedures.

4.      Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of Horizon loan processing system to ensure accuracy in loan set-up, billing and exception management.

5.      Performs quality control reviews expeditiously including emphasis on accuracy of documents and data input.

6.      Identifies errors from quality control review and follows up with appropriate staff member to ensure that corrections are made resulting in documents/account compliance.

7.      Collaborates with Credit Administration staff to ensure all loan closing documentation and/or exceptions to regulation and/or procedure have been resolved according to guidelines.

8.      Maintains all self-monitoring documentation for review by Internal Audit, Corporate Regulatory Compliance and other third party reviews.

9.      Assists in the monthly and quarterly reconciliations as assigned to ensure that accounts are reconciled to Bank records in a timely fashion.  Submits completed reconciliations to Quality Control and Audit Supervisor for review and approval. Assists in the investigation and resolution of any discrepancies promptly and efficiently.

10.  Assists in the preparation of month-end loan and exception reports and other reports as assigned.

11.  Performs all duties while maintaining a strong, proactive culture of compliance to both department procedures and applicable regulations in the Credit Administration Department.

12.  Responsible for complying with the various rules, regulations, policies and ethical standards governing the financial services industry including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.

13.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

·         Strong background and experience in bank loan administration, loan documentation, and loan operations required.

·         Minimum five years loan processing, document preparation, and/or loan compliance is required

·         High School Diploma or GED

·         Experience with FIS / Horizon preferred.

·         Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are required

·         Proficient in Excel

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

·         Strong knowledge of specialized loan documentation, tracking and accounting systems required.

·         Requires experience with various computer software applications, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.

·         Requires strong organizational skills and work habits, fine attention to detail, good business/legal reading and writing skills, strong verbal communication, and ability to work extremely well in a team environment.
