Float Teller
SUMMARY
Provides customer service to all bank customers. Receives and pays out money, and keeps records of money and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions. Represents the bank with professionalism both on the job and within the community by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Greets customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
Receives and processes deposits and checks, and issues appropriate receipts, following all bank procedures.
Enters customers' transactions into computer to record transactions, issues computer generated receipts, and places holds on accounts at manager’s discretion.
Maintains proper security procedures. Checks suspect accounts, including but not limited to kiting and fraud, protecting the bank from operational risk. May be required to lock and unlock vaults including setting time locks when required.
Balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer daily and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen, prepares currency transaction reports, and makes entries in the monetary log.
Reports discrepancies to manager.
Explains, promotes, or sells banks products and services including but not limited to travelers checks, savings bonds, money orders, cashier's checks, and provides access to safe deposit boxes. Assists customers with current promotional rates, balancing, and NSF problems.
Maintains ATM balance and adds cash.
Accepts loan payments.
Performs opening and closing duties. These duties include but are not limited to checking the video tape and back-up tape, turning on/off the computers, and processing night drop transactions.
Answers the phone.
Provides outstanding customer service by assisting customers with any bank transactions and questions they may have. Also serves as CSR when needed.
Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum 2 years experience as a CSR and Teller or equivalent experience in a similar position.
Successful completion of Customer Service training and Teller training program required
Prior experience and/or a demonstrated aptitude that would indicate ability to become a leader in a sales and service environment required
High School diploma or GED required
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail a must
Demonstrated sound judgment in decisions regarding transaction approvals and customer problem resolution
Must be computer literate with typing experience and a working knowledge of MS Office preferred
Will be required to travel to numerous locations within a specific market
