Assistant Branch Manager

SUMMARY
With support and guidance from the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager will be responsible for all phases of internal branch operations, and assumes responsibility for the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Performs duties/responsibilities of the branch manager in the branch manager’s absence, to include: staffing, training, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations
• Manages and guides branch team members to attain internal performance objectives: increased business volume, deposit growth, profitability, and safety and soundness of branch
• Continuously calling, referring and cross selling opportunities and efforts through Synapsys of new and existing customers; acquires and maintains up-to-date knowledge of Bank products and services by conducting sales training each month in order to satisfy customer needs
• Maintains knowledge of branch policies and procedures including check and override approval as well as security policies and procedures
• Overseas daily balancing of branch to ensure all transactions are balanced; helps staff resolve any reconciliation of out of balance issues
• Supports and encourages excellent customer service by greeting & appropriately interacting with customers: rising and shaking customer’s hand; using customer’s name; thanking customers for their business
• Handles customer problems/complaints with a sense of urgency and counsels customers with special needs and/or requests

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning hiring, staffing, training, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations. Provides leadership by example at all times, through support and endorsement of bank policy.

CONTROL RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
Become knowledgeable regarding the department's internal controls as outlined in the policies and procedures and comply with all control requirements.

COMPLIANCE
Ability to comprehend and adhere to Federal and State banking regulations, Company policies and procedures, and successfully participate in regulatory and Company training requirements via multiple and variable delivery methods.
Requirements     QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum 3 years branch experience required
• Sales-oriented nature with ability to motivate employees to excel in sales and service required
• Demonstrates extensive technical and product knowledge is required
• Displays professional attitude/conduct and a high energy level
• Ability to make sound decisions and take actions based on established policies and procedures
• Working knowledge of both Teller and CSR functions
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and task prioritization skills
• Prior management experience strongly preferred
• Extensive background in financial institution operational policies, procedures, and state and federal banking regulations preferred
