Associate Web Designer

   
The Associate Web Designer is a temporary position.  The Associate Web Designer creates user interfaces and interactive content for Capella University websites (creative design & front end web development. Use of HTML,CSS, jQuery), email marketing, multimedia presentations, video creation, online advertising, and more. This individual reports to the Supervisor of Web Design, whose team has responsibility for interface design, multimedia, front-end development, video development, usability, and ADA compliance.

Create user interfaces, from look and feel mockups through development (graphics optimization, HTML, CSS, JavaScript / jQuery) for final delivery.

Create interactive Flash or standards-based content and animations.

Design emails and make minor code tweaks to email templates.

Work closely with Marketing groups to implement outstanding user experience on Capella site.

Ensure that material on the web site is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities.

Collaborate with usability team to test and refine designs.
    
A two-year Associate degree in design (graphic/web design, communications, new media design) or related field or equivalent combination of experience is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Excellent graphic design and typography skills. Experience in optimizing graphics for the web and mobile.

Must be skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator and other graphics programs.

HTML, CSS, and some Flash. Need some JavaScript and/or jQuery library knowledge.

A basic knowledge of video editing within Final Cut Pro is a plus.

Strong prioritization and time management skills to balance multiple demands. Ability to grasp new concepts quickly, an extreme attention to detail, strong communication skills.
