Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of engineering department to design, manufacture, and test components, products, and systems by performing.

Manages and trains an engineering team and coordinates activities of engineering department to design, process, project, and develop, produce, improve, and test components, products, systems, and services. Works on or serves as a resource on projects requiring advanced knowledge of Process Compression Systems products and services. Provides planning, direction, and coordination for all team related technical activities while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities. In conjunction with PCS HR resources, he administers personnel functions including recruiting, hiring, review and approval of job descriptions and salary classifications, selection and placement of personnel, performance evaluations, and salary adjustments. : Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follows up performance against estimates. Directs department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, develop test procedures and supports all quality and operations related tasks such as NCR's. Manages development of material selection standards. Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects. Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products. Recommends and implements new policies and procedures as directed. Initiates cost reduction proposals from other sources, compiles appropriate information, makes recommendations for action, and checks on results obtained. Prepares and controls department budget, forecasts operating costs of department, and directs preparation of budget requests. Ensures compliance of company policies, procedures, and objectives regarding processes, initiatives, and projects. May direct field testing of products and systems in support of our field staff.
Participates in and is supportive of the Six Sigma process.
Job Requirements/ Qualifications Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; design software, manufacturing software and SAP.
Education/Experience:
Must have 12+ years experience required; must have 5 years or more of supervisory experience. Four year degree in Mechanical or related engineering discipline required.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to
Finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
