Leisure Group Sales Manager

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for cultivating partnerships, managing third party intermediary channels and building and facilitating the tour & travel group business for the Reno and Lake Tahoe markets. This position will be responsible for having a clear understanding of the seasonality, core market segments and occupancy patterns related to each specific property within the markets and a clear understanding and working knowledge of how to impact occupancies and revenue by driving business accordingly through each segment of business referenced herein.  This person will be responsible for developing new business in addition to maintaining existing relationships and strategic partnerships.  Some duties of this role include, but are not limited to, working with ESS in negotiating contracts, traveling between the properties and markets regularly as well as traveling outside of the state to promote the properties through direct sales calls, product launches, trade shows, education seminars and trainings, etc.  This person will be expected to grow production over low occupancy periods and increase ADR through proactive sales efforts.  This individual may directly supervise other Sales Managers or Administrative personnel.  In the event said individual does directly supervise others, said individual will be responsible for the development and career growth of those individuals.

 

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

    * Continual evaluation, implementation and optimization of revenue growth opportunities in transient markets through proactive sales effort;
    * Implement proactive, strategic and tactical actions consistent with optimal mix strategies to grow occupancy and revenues across the market;
    * Implementation of multi-property rate, promotion and partner structure throughout the Northern Nevada Market;

    * Continuously identify periods where demand creation and/or movement is necessary and take action to impact said periods;
    * Participate in the negotiation of contracts and cooperative marketing initiatives;
    * Proactive effort in regard to property content management and continual education of leisure sales partners as it relates to the specific properties;
    * Partner closely with all departments, including but not limited to revenue management, pricing, planning and analysis, direct marketing, convention sales, casino marketing, E-commerce, Operations and Total Rewards to help guide overall Northern Nevada strategies and tactics as appropriate;

    * Prospect / solicit customers to build tour & travel group business;
    * Negotiate room rates and contract conditions w/tour & travel customers;
    * Travel to promote Northern Nevada properties
    * Conduct site tours of Northern Nevada properties
    * Development of a quarterly sales action plan
    * Assure all team reports are completed and submitted on time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    * Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree Preferred
    * 2+ years of experience in Transient / Leisure Sales for multi-product businesses.
    * Must possess very strong interpersonal, communication and consensus building skills;
    * Must be a quick learner and adapt to a dynamic, fluid working environment.
    * Must be willing to travel up to 15-20% of the time.
    * Must possess strong motivational skills and leadership skills.
