Door Person

Job Description:

Job Summary:

Directly reporting to the Total Rewards and Promotions Supervisor, the Door person creates and ensures a fun-filled and exciting environment where the execution of service is paramount.  Responsible for greeting incoming and outgoing guests and vehicles. Constantly seeks ways to improve friendly, helpful service and reduce customer wait time to positively impact department’s customer service ratings.

Hourly rate of pay: $10.00

 

Essential Job Functions including the following but other duties may be assigned:

·         Assists guests by opening and closing doors and providing enthusiastic welcome using names when appropriate.

·         Provides information to guest concerning special events and promotions on-property.

·         Will provide answers to guests’ questions including, but not limited to, special events on and off property, travel directions and restaurant information.

·         Directs delivery personnel to service entrance and makes every effort to keep the main entrance secure.

·         Ensures that a smooth flow of traffic in front of the property is maintained and “no parking” areas are kept clear.

·         Collaborates with work-group and all support teams to ensure player satisfaction.

·         Communicates all relevant information to fellow team members and department leaders to maintain consistency and avoid potential problems.

·         Greets and welcomes customers with a smile, and takes pride in being a Horseshoe team member.

·         Serves as representative and customer service role model for other team members.

·         Understands, values, and supports the Horseshoe mission statement.

·         Resolves customer issues according to Service Recovery training.

·         Performs Doorman duties as deemed by the Horseshoe legendary service standards.

·         Participates in group deliveries and special services (e.g., wheel chairs, newspapers).

·         Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and complies with all state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures.

 


Qualifications:

Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

·         One-year previous experience as a Bell/Doorman is preferred.

·         A minimum of one-year customer service experience in a position where there is direct customer contact preferred.

·         Literate and fluent in English.  Must be able to converse in English with guests, give clear directions, and be familiar with area events and attractions.

·         Must have the proven ability to provide courteous, friendly and efficient service.

·         Must have no outstanding traffic violations, DUI’s, or convictions.

·         Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.

·         Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.

·         Must be able to work and quickly maneuver inside and outside.  Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including temperatures in excess of 100 degrees and as cold as 20 degrees.

·         Must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.

·         Must be able to work independently.

·         Must be able to stoop, bend, and lift objects that weigh up to 100 pounds.

·         Must be able to push and/or pull heavy rolling loads in excess of 300 pounds.

·         Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

 

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:

·         Must be able to work independently.

·         Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 – 8 hours).

·         Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.

·         Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.

·         Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.

·         Respond to visual and aural cues.

·         Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.

·         Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.

·         Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.

·         Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.

·         Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.

·         Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
