Marcomm Manager

Cadence is looking for a skilled Copyeditor/Copywriter to help us develop print and online marketing collateral that is compelling and consistent. As part of our fast-paced Corporate Marketing team, the Copyeditor/Copywriter is responsible for: detailed proofreading at both pre- and post-production stages; editing new copy; developmental editing of raw content from multiple authors; updating content; and, enforcing our editorial style and brand guidelines.

In this role, you must have excellent command of grammar and syntax, a keen eye for editorial consistency, sensitivity to the tone and technical depth required for each collateral type, and a talent for repurposing copy so that it targets different audiences and aligns with our marketing strategies. You must also be able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet same-day turnarounds.


oWork directly with the Senior Writer/Managing Editor and a small team of designers
oMaintain our in-house editorial resources (style guide, acronym list, product list)
oLearn and understand our product terminology, industry language, and brand messaging
oEdit copy to be clear, concise, and relevant—and consistently so—throughout our customer-facing communications (datasheets, PowerPoint presentations, web pages, white papers, success stories, events deliverables)
oTake on writing jobs as needed
oUse an online project system to track and process job requests
oEnhance the marketing message without altering the technical meaning
oCommunicate regularly with campaign managers, events coordinators, and web producers

Position Requirements

oBachelor’s degree (additional editing/writing certification a plus)
oAt least 3–5 years of professional editing experience (corporate or agency a plus)
oExcellent communication and time management skills to triage projects and meet deadlines
oBack-of-your-hand familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, and Acrobat Reader/Writer
oA flair for nit-picking, but a sense of humor and some perspective
