Business Development Director

CGI seeks a seasoned Business Development and Sales Executive to secure new mandates with commercial clients throughout the U.S. Mid-Atlantic Region. The successful candidate is able to define a sales strategy from the ground and up and help bring it to fruition by doing what it takes to succeed. S/he is a relationship builder who employs extensive business acumen to identify sales opportunities and bring them to closure.

This executive will be responsible for prospecting, identifying, contacting via phone, presenting, and selling CGI IT services such as systems integration, application development and maintenance, application portfolio rationalization, as well as IT outsourcing, managed services, and business process outsourcing to the commercial market. S/he will be responsible for achieving and exceeding sales quota and building long term business relationships with key IT decision makers using extensive industry contacts, consultative sales approach and solution selling skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Development, implementation and maintenance of a portfolio of sales plans to include a small number of Target Strategic accounts, each representing a potential significant, long-term revenue stream (~66% time focus) and a set of Opportunistic accounts that can provide short/medium term revenue and bookings with the potential to become Strategic accounts (~33% time focus);
• Generating appointments through warm and cold calling, leading all new business proposals with clients and managing the entire lifecycle of the sales process;
• Meeting and exceeding quotas for bookings and gross revenue;
• Ensuring excellent coverage and penetration of the market along with providing outstanding customer service.

Position requirements:

• 12+ years of successful IT sales experience with IT professional services and outsourcing firms similar to CGI
• A verifiable network of commercial referral contacts within the Mid-Atlantic region
• An undergraduate college degree is required; an MBA is preferred

This position requires a commitment to the overall strategic objectives of CGI, a high level of accountability and the ability to gain respect with customers and within the organization. We are looking for an organized, flexible, goal oriented, and results-driven individual. Additional qualifications include:

• Proven ability to exceed sales objectives by selling IT services or business solutions
• Keen ability to understand client needs and critically qualify opportunities that match to CGI offerings
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to solve problems and identify key issues
• Strong PC skills and understanding of business technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
