Windows Systems Administrator

Put your years of experience into a future of excellence at CGI Federal! CGI is seeking a Windows System Administrator to support our team at the Joint Strike Fighter Program in Arlington, VA. The Windows System Administrator (SA) position provides direct operational support for a Windows 2008 Server, Windows 2003 Server, Windows Server 2000, MS SharePoint (SP), and Windows XP Professional workstation environment. The SA is responsible for user administration, testing and deploying Non-Standard Software, performing backups, providing Tier 2 problem resolution, patching and maintaining servers both on JVE and various classified networks.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

This position will be the initial point of contact for the JPO Foreign Disclosure and Security IPTs to answer questions and respond to the needs of all IPTs in regards to MS SharePoint permissions and/or system administration. Specific activities and its resulting outcome include but not limited to:
 
· Requirements Analysis for Windows & SharePoint Application Account Administration and Maintenance – Using requirements collected by the Project Manager/Analyst, the Systems Administrator (SA) determines the security groups that will be required for each specific SP resource (List, Library, and Site).
· OS/Application Account Administration – Creates, configures, modifies and removes appropriate active directory (AD) and SP groups as required.
· Perform Server Administration and Maintenance–Configures server. Implements the permissions model in the test environment. Coordinates with Systems Administrators to create AD groups in AD.
· Testing – Participates in/Support Hardware/Software Testing, System Testing, Unit Testing, and Support Customer Acceptance Testing as required. Responds to permissions issues discovered during testing. Also tests different levels of permissions to ensure account structure is setup properly and with level of detail needed to maintain complete and accurate separation of data.
· Review Support – Participates in reviews with various stakeholders to include security and foreign disclosure SMEs, SharePoint Developers, and others to ensure proper review and analysis is performed and that the appropriate requirements are met (for example, access, permissions, user interface and functionality). Provides feedback on deliverables and identifies risks.
· Implementation – Participates in implementation events, by ensuring all software and data has loaded properly. Loads AD groups, creates SP security groups and assigns the appropriate AD groups to all users.
· Monitoring - Establishes and maintains log of all user groups, accounts, and permissions. Reviews the log regularly and reports potential risks or discrepancies. Updates the log as needed.
· Reporting – Primary contact for responding to requests for information about user/group permissions and access. Provides reports to stakeholders as needed. Provides weekly status report to lead.
· Documentation - Develops training materials, desk procedures, technical manuals and checklists for all Windows and SP administrative duties.
· Provides Backup and Recovery Support - Ensures System and Application backups are successful. Maintains offsite storage and initiate Recovery Management procedures as required.
· Troubleshooting - Provides Tier II Help Desk Troubleshooting and Support and serves as an escalation point for Help Desk
· Software - Manage Software Licenses, Standard/Non-Standard Software and IA Compliance support and activities

REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

·Ability to obtain and retain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
· Advanced problem solving abilities
· Knowledge of operating systems and applications, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting
· Solid understanding of enterprise level backups, COOP and disaster recovery design
· Experience with the testing and distribution of Information Assurance patches and system updates
· Experience in VMware virtualization across-platforms
· Experience with the administration of database (MS SQL/Oracle) backups and restores
· Intermediate understanding of TCP/IP networking
· Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint)
· Understanding of Active Directory infrastructure, design and interface capabilities with other MS products
· Understanding name resolution (DNS, WINS)
· Patient and courteous communication and customer service skills
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or an additional 6 years of experience in lieu of degree.
· 8 years of professional experience maintaining a network/operational environment.
· 5+ years experience with Microsoft operating systems, in particular SharePoint, is mandatory.
· Security+ Certification (must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire)

DESIRED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

· Installation and migration experience with SharePoint highly desirable
· MCSE highly desirable
