Payroll Supervisor

Purpose and Main Duties An experienced and knowledgeable payroll supervisor is sought to manage a team of three payroll staff and all aspects of payroll. Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus are also essential requirements for this job. The Payroll Section is located within the Finance Department of Birkbeck, and manages a payroll of approximately 1600 employees per month on a University bespoke integrated HR/payroll system. Candidate Requirements At least three years experience in a supervisory capacity is required. Experience of University or public sector payroll is desirable as is a thorough knowledge of defined benefit pension schemes. Further Information This job is full time and permanent. The salary quoted above is inclusive of London allowance. The initial salary award will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment may be subject to a probationary period of up to six months. Birkbeck also provides a generous defined benefit pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible working arrangements and other great benefits.
