Business Operations Specialist I

Overview

The Business Operations Specialist is committed to developing loyal and sucessful partners with vendors and all internal and external customers.  Identifies and understands customer and vendor requirements and provides services which exceed expectations.  The Business Operations Specialist position requires: financial, audit, business and operations experience.  In this position it is necessary to provide suggestions to management and supervisors for streamlining processes, gaining operational efficiencies.  The Business Operations Specialist will focus on inter-personal communications skills and strive to provide an excellent experience when interacting with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities

Monitors and controls the contract and or purchase orders from customers in terms of:

    * Sourcing from vendors
    * Logistics and coordination of order processing
    * Revenue recognition review and audit
    * Responsible for reviewing FOB terms and conditions and properly assessing and applying the correct terms to the order.
    * Timely and accurate billing of revenue

Handles high profile and strategic accounts and has larger workload than a Business Operations Specialist I role.  This position requires increased coverage and a greater responsibility level due to the complexity of these high profile customers and contracts.

    * Sourcing from vendors
    * Logistics and coordination of order processing
    * Revenue recognition review and audit
    * Responsible for reviewing FOB terms and conditions and properly assessing and applying the correct terms to the order.

 

    *
      Responsible for timely and accurate billing of revenueResponsible for timely and accurately resolving problem invoices, customer returns and vendor price variances.   Also provides any financial impact information when submitting for approvals.
    * Responsible for identifying and communicates any risks associated with revenue, gross profit, cash flow or audit concerns to management.
    * Ensure that standard processes are adhered to and utilized throughout Business Operations.
    * Responsible for communicating proactively to Internal/External customers.
    * Responsible for all audit requirements.
    * Miscellaneous reporting requirements deemed necessary by customers and field organization.
    * Responsible for continual education and updating skill set to keep up-to-date with all aspects and growing demands of this position.

 

 
Requirements

    * Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred and one to three years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
    * Superior communication skills, written and oral
    * Professional and ethical demeanor
    * Financial, Audit, Operations and Business Savvy
    * Excellent time management, organizational and multi-task skills
    * Excel Level 2 competence/Excel Level 3 competence expected
    * Leadership and team oriented
    * Detail oriented
    * Upholds confidentiality
    * Demonstrates a positive attitude towards self and others
