Inside Sales Rep HS

Overview

The Inside Sales Representative’s primary goal is to generate business and work within a team supporting field counterparts, selling via telephone/web. The ISR is responsible for generating revenue within the company by finding new leads and accounts, working with the BDA team’s generated leads, upselling software and hardware into existing accounts, and building positive relationships with existing clients. The position is tied to a sales geography, segment, or team in a designated vertical market.
Responsibilities

Work closely in a team, supporting field rep(s) to provide service to them as well as both new and existing customers. This service includes: customer follow-up and correspondence within 1 business day of initial contact, general “account management” requirements for customer accounts, meeting quota shared with field rep team, vertical, and sales team unit, heavy follow up activity (outbound calls and emails) each day, quote generation within the predefined response time, up to date product knowledge to discuss/sell to customers, consistency in daily upselling efforts, accurate and consistent forecasting skills, strong customer relationships, and proactive hunting for new opportunities via phone sales, campaign involvement, and outreach (aka “Touchback” calls).

 

Use CRM to log all activity as they occur (including phone and email, both internal and external). Use CRM to log follow-up, future tasks for self and for other reps, according to established process

 

Accurately identify and qualify leads, handing off to field reps when appropriate. Keep accurate records in CRM, carefully following processes in place for lead management.

 

Work with Marketing department to manage strategic campaigns resulting in top results. This requires the ISR to make outbound calls within the designated time frame, keep accurate records of activities in CRM, schedule follow-up activities for the future, associate activities with the proper campaign in CRM, and be ready to meet with the Marketing team to keep them updated on progress when requested.

 

Manage time effectively so that all daily responsibilities, assignments and campaign objectives are consistently met.

 

Work closely with field reps and inside reps to effectively support their strategic objectives and sales plans. This includes setting up & attending recurring (2) weekly meetings per field rep and (1) quarterly meeting with each field rep, discussing strategic initiatives. A quarterly “strategic business plan” will be submitted each quarter by the ISR for each field rep partnership he/she is in.

 

Consistently manage and produce and accurate forecast, following processes in place. Attend weekly forecasting meetings prepared with updated for each opportunity falling with the current quarter including (but not limited to) next steps and customer “buying & approval process” info.

 

Constantly work to bring in opportunities early. This means “working” opportunities whose close dates are months/years out, not just those whose close dates fall within the current quarter or month.

 

Lead product demonstrations via the web using approved slides, tailoring the presentation specifically to each client by both preparing with Sales Engineer or Product Specialist 1 business day in advance of demo. Using “Demo Worksheet”, qualify with customer via phone prior to demo. ISR uses a power point presentation to open the presentation: introduces the company, the selling points to focus on, and any info pertinent to the specific customer’s needs or processes. ISR carefully adheres to predefined, approved scripts. Sales Engineer/Product Specialist then leads live product demo in which ISR actively participates according to established process.

 

Develop positive relationships with existing customer base. This requires a high level of “account management” responsibility where required activities may not have a direct impact on a sale, ie working with Support on open tickets, the Annuity team to procure hardware maintenance renewals, Project Management, and Account Management.

Requirements

 EDUCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

    *
      Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent (four-year preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience (3-5 years related experience)
    *
      1-2 years of experience in the hospitality industry preferred
    *
      1-2 years of experience in software preferred
    *
      2-3+ years of experience with success in sales, particularly inside sales
    *
      1-2 years of experience with success in a cold-calling position
    *
      Pleasant, politely-aggressive telephone personality
    *
      Must possess strong oral and written presentation skills
    *
      Demonstrate professionalism and high ethical business standards so as to be perceived as a dependable business partner and leader
    *
      Must have the ability to listen, and understand customer requirements and translate into sales
    *
      Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
      Ability to work on multiple tasks, set goals, and maintain high activity levels
