Master of Intellectual Property Law
Attorneys working in the field of intellectual property are concerned with laws governing the ownership of artistic and scientific creations. Students who would like to specialize in this field can complete a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property program after earning their Juris Doctor. LL.M. programs are available to practicing lawyers and new law school graduates who would like to learn more about a specific area of law. Students in an intellectual property program learn how to help clients establish ownership of a work of art or literature or receive compensation for the use of an original product design. Some schools require LL.M. students to complete a master's thesis or research paper to graduate.
